Léo Belthoise is a member of Sillages, violinist of the Trio Pangea and is a soloist of the Barcelona Modern Ensemble.
Born in Montmorency in 1991, he studied violin, chamber music, harmony and analysis in France, then with Raphaël Oleg at the Musik Akademie Basel. Initially supported by the Swiss Foundation for Young Musicians, he became a guest of renowned festivals and concert seasons and started on an international career, focused on performing new works. His first solo album dedicated to the works by Manon Lepauvre and Toshio Hosokawa was released in 2023 and received critical acclaim.
He has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in prestigious venues such as Porto Casa da Musica, CCB in Lisbon, l’Auditori in Barcelona, Radio Concert Hall in Geneva, Tonhalle in Zürich, Cortot Hall in Paris, the Arsenal in Metz, the ZeitRaüme Biennale in Basel and the Reiter Theater in Munich, including radio-broadcast on France Musique, Antena 2 and Bayerischer Rundfunk. He dedicates his performing activities to solo repertoire, chamber music and contemporary creation. With the Trio Pangea, he is currently recording a four volume Trio anthology for the Naxos company. The press describes his playing as “particularly intense, underlined by total emotional commitment”.
He now develops various immersive forms of artistic expression with his production company Time In Motion. His projects are supported by the Institut Français and by the Île-de-France Artistic Fund.
